Recently, a version of Beginning of a New Era meant for playback in movie theaters was leaked. This release aims to convert this so-called "DCP" into a more widely playable format (HEVC 10-bit 4:4:4). Unlike my [previous DCP release](https://nyaa.si/view/2074725), this encode has had significant filtering applied to it to reduce haloing and aliasing, meaning that it is by no means a "definitive" release of the movie. Nor is it especially useful for archival purposes, since various Blu-Ray corrections were spliced into the encode. The most I can say is that this is subjectively a more pleasant viewing experience than other options, and it certainly contains more actual detail than any Blu-Ray release. Because this video is 10-bit 4:4:4, VLC **will not play it correctly**. If you insist on using VLC, you should seek out another release. That also goes for people who want to watch the movie on weak hardware (phones, TVs). A note on the listed resolution: The (somewhat unfortunate) release standard in this community is to list files at their theoretical 16:9 vertical resolution even when the file has been cropped to a wider aspect ratio. So this file is in no sense 1152p—it is 2048x858. Listing it at 858p would imply that it has less detail than a "1080p" Blu-Ray release, which is not the case. I ask for your understanding. Contains 5.1 and 2.0 audio. ______________________________________ [Uma Musume: Pretty Derby - Beginning of a New Era](https://myanimelist.net/anime/57647/Uma_Musume__Pretty_Derby_-_Shin_Jidai_no_Tobira) Subtitles: [tracen] (modified) Additional TS: motbob [Video quality comparisons](https://slow.pics/c/b7bITcnh) Please leave feedback in the comments, good or bad.
